Despite being an interesting footballer, Omedi is also a health professional. The 2019 nursing graduate decided quit medics and focus on football to push his talent. After graduating from Lira School of comprehensive nursing, the sizzling hot-marksman got a work transfer to Masindi prisons as a warder and this opened doors to his football stardom.

Denis Omedi is a shining Ugandan footballer, currently playing for Startimes Uganda Premier league side Kitara Football Club based in Hoima. He plays as a centre forward with his right foot being the most dangerous of all.

Before joining Kitara fc, Omedi featured for Masindi based Booma Fc where he emerged as the season top scorer on the Betpawa Big League with 22 goals, a record breaking scoreline by an individual in the history of the Ugandan league.
He was also the second top score of last season's Uganda Premier league with 14 goals behind KCCA's Mohammad Shaban who triumped with 17 goals.

He will always be remembered for his rabona style strike against KCCA in the Startimes Uganda Premier league that left fans yearning for more.

He was a top figure in Kitara Fc's journey to win their first Stanbic Uganda cup and led them into the CAF Confederation Cup, a continental competition they lost to Libyan side on a 6-4 goal difference with Omedi scoring twice.

Before joining to leagues, Omedi played for some teams in Lira, his home district and also featured in Lango province team in the FUFA Drum tournament.

The Lira boy got his maiden National team call up last year for international firendlies where he was benched.

His electric pace and versatility, especially when on his right foot, has been a defensive nightmare for every opponent.
Omedi's prowess and selfless efforts as in the World cup qualifiers where he played as a substitute didn't go unnoticed, attracting Coach Paul Put's attention to recall him for the national duty towards the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

Yesterday, the coach trusted and included him on the starting lineup and the Kitara Football Club goal machine outshined most of the other players, scoring his debut National team goal that enabled the Cranes to bounce back into the game after an early lead by South African National team.

International duty:
Despite his burgeoning career, Omedi has not yet played for any team outside Uganda. He was recently linked to Kenyan giants Gor Mahia who yearned for his signature but the process didn't bear any fruits.

Despite aging, Omedi is anticipated to be one of Uganda's top footballers of the generation, having achieved many awards to his name and continues to serve as an inspiration to every young soccer lover countrywide.
