MUBENDE: The politics of Mubende district are steaming up ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Different people are aspiring for different political positions but the parliamentary seat for Mubende municipality is the most competitive one.
Voters in Mubende and Uganda in general were shocked last week after one of the contestants let the cat out of the bag, in a revelation that left them labeling her as a green snake.
In a video spreading like desert fire on different social media platforms, Sumayah Nabawanuka is seen confidently explaining how she can join the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) whenever she wants having been a member before.
Sumaya Nabawanuka is a member of the National Unity Platform.While appearing on Sure Fm, a radio station in Kasambya, Mubende district, Sumayah revealed how she's strong that no one can stop her from joining NRM, in a statement contrary to the NUP principles.

Sumayah is competing with Ssegawa for the National Unity Platform flag.The shocking revelation came weeks after the incumbent municipality Member of Parliament and NRM diehard Hon:Bashir Lubega withdrew from the race, in an announcement that different political enthusiasts link to a secret move to give Sumayah a winning opportunity, his yellow counterpart hiding in National Unity Platform colors.
Following her statements, different political analysts began to dig deep into her political history, accusing her of winning the recent elections as the woman MP and negotiating with Hope Grania Nakazibwe of the National Resistance Movement who was later announced the winner.
However, these allegations should not be considered true as no one has satisfying evidence.
