Popular radio and Tv presenter and sports commentator SureMan Ssegawa has declared his interest in running for the Mubende municipality Parliamentary seat in 2026.
The startling declaration ratifies his recent statements accompanied by actions that rose concern about what could be his plan.
Born Ismael Ssegawa on August 28,1994, the Radio Simba sports commentator is not only a vibrant media personality but also a musician with his "Mbulamu Kitwalo" freestyle going viral on TikTok.
His journey to stardom is nothing short of inspiring, having spent his university days barbecuing meat on the Mubende high way.
With a decade in the media, "Muwomya microphone" has already started enjoying the fruits of his hustle. His achievements in the media are a testimony to his hard work and selfless dedication to his future aspirations.
He owns Subway bars in Kampala, Muwomya Events and is as well the mastermind for the leading Nva Mubende festival.
In the recent months, Ssegawa expressed his interest in joining active politics, though many were left with un answered questions about his target position.
His posts escorted by the hashtag #SuremanforMubende have always trended, with him doing some other impactful work in his home community spotlighting his love for the community.
In a recent post on one of his social media accounts, 'ssenkulu mandwa' unveiled that he will be contesting for the Mubende municipality Member of Parliament position.
The declaration has however sparked off mixed reactions with some political commentators criticizing him for lacking political knowledge, others suggested he would first run for lower positions.
It's of no doubt that Ssegawa will stand under the umbrella of the National Unity Platform, having publicly expressed his endless love for the party President and all other leaders under the opposing party.
Mubende municipality has in the recent political terms struggled to get the best representative in the Parliament, with the elected ones under the ruling National Resistance Movement failing to raise their voices on issues disturbing their voters.
This will give Ssegawa and other aspirants a chance to be tested as voters will need a new leader who will perfectly serve them.
We wish him the best.
