ELIAS LUYIMBAZI NALUKOOLA; THE NUP FLAG BEARER FOR KAWEMPE NORTH UPCOMING BY-ELECTION.



Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola to represent NUP in the Kawempe North by-election.

Today, National Unity Platform, a leading opposition party in Uganda announced City lawyer Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola as their flag bearer for the upcoming Kawempe North Member of Parliament by-election. 

Set for March 13th, Kawempe North residents look forward to voting for their favorite person to replace the fallen Hon.Mohammad Ssegirinya.

Different people expressed their interest in the position with National Unity Platform registering ten aspirants.

"Nalukoola secured 71% of the vote. The selection process was based on vetting (40%), debate performance (10%), and ground visibility and mobilization (50%)"--NUP’s Election Management Committee (EMC) chairperson, Mercy Walukaba, announced.

Having achieved a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Luyimbazi promises to be a service focused leader.
The outspoken-vocal lawyer is best known articulating clauses as he defends clients at will to secure victory in several human-rights and land cases.

His political background is also a testimony to the much anticipated service delivery, having served as Democratic Party (DP) member and legal advisor, a party he left in October 2024 after the party signed a cooperation agreement with the ruling NRM.
Luyimbazi vowed to work with other leaders to serve Kawempe North.

Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola is also an eloquent leader who as well advises the  Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) and is expected to raise his voice in Parliament whenever needed to.

It's also important to not that Luyimbazi is not yet confirmed as the Kawempe North Member of Parliament as voters have to decide in the election with other contestants from other parties.
